Well-respected independent insurance brokerage seeks an experienced Commercial Claims Handler for its Leeds office.
This highly entrepreneurial firm has an excellent reputation for professionalism and boasts a strong client base UK-wide. The business prides itself on its ability to make quick decisions, and whilst it is committed to providing the highest level of client service, you will find a lot less ‘red tape’ in this firm than in many other brokerages.
Working in a small team, you will handle a range of commercial insurance claims, including but not limited to, Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Motor and Goods in Transit losses. You may also deal with some HNW claims, typically relating to accounts that are connected to the broker’s commercial portfolio. You will successfully build and maintain strong working relationships with the company’s valued client base, delivering the first-class claims service that is expected of this leading firm. You will be given the opportunity to accompany Account Executives on some client visits, in order to gain a greater understanding of the risks that are being insured.
This is a ‘hands on’ role, where you will use your technical expertise to influence the outcome of decisions, negotiate with insurance companies and guide the clients through the claims process. You will be diplomatic and empathetic in your approach, but also have the assertiveness to contest decisions and resolve situations to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved. Progress made with professional insurance qualifications would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
My client has a superb office and you will enjoy working in a very friendly and supportive environment. Whilst negotiable, the salary is expected to be in the region of £25-30K (pro rata) and our client is happy to offer slightly reduced hours for the right candidate.
