The specialist Mergers & Acquisitions Team provides advice and insurance (for example Warranty & Indemnity coverage) in relation to transactional risks when companies purchase other entities. The team works in conjunction with some of the brightest Tax Lawyers in the country, and the client list comprises some of the best-known companies in Scotland; from FTSE100’s through to some of the region’s largest privately-owned companies.
Here, you will work with colleagues (whose backgrounds are typically from insurance or law) based in London, Manchester, Oslo, Hong Kong, Singapore and across the United States. You will be responsible for managing relationships with clients from a variety of industry sectors, and play a key part in some of the highest profile M&A deals in Scotland, many of which will make the news and include blue chip names.
This is a constantly-evolving niche that adapts to global market changes so it is essential that you are a quick learner with a passion for self-development and are able to keep abreast of changes in a fast-paced sector. Regardless of your background, you must be professional in your approach, with a high degree of commercial acumen, the ability to understand the issues affecting business from a variety of industries, and the capability to secure the buy-in from senior personnel from all walks of life.
As you would expect, you must be diligent, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to compile a variety of professional reports and other associated documentation.
