As well as controlling perhaps the largest market share in the country, this team certainly looks after some of the best known and well-loved charities in the UK, including those with multi-million pound premiums who advertise on primetime television, have a presence on high streets across the country and organise high profile fund raising events. As you would expect from market-leaders, they have access to a range of exclusive products and facilitates, and hold one composite insurer’s highest levels of delegated authority in the country, to underwrite business inhouse.
Due to the promotion of a current member of the team, the need has arisen to appoint an additional Account Handler. Here, you will be handling a variety of accounts from across the Charity sector, with premiums up to £10,000. You will be responsible for building a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses and risks that they face, and should any gaps in cover exist, you will advise the best way to mitigate these (such as cross and up-selling ancillary covers). You will also deal with mid-term amendments, renewals and answering any day to day enquires, as well as negotiating with Underwriters in order to obtain your clients the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of a range of commercial insurance products, although we do welcome applications from candidates from a personal lines background who can demonstrate an ability to quickly pick up the nuances of commercial insurance. You must be well-organised with a keen eye for detail and have good task-management skills. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to build rapport with stakeholders from all walks of life.
