Leeds Insurance Institute’s Curling, Bowling & Pool Evening!
With over 5,000 views, countless likes, shares and comments, the social media savvy amongst you may well have seen an online conversation during the winter Olympics between the Insurance Institute of Leeds and Aston Charles.
We are delighted to share that our friends at the Insurance Institute of Leeds are now organising a Curling, Bowling and Pool evening as their next social ‘do’.
The event is to be held from 6.30pm on Thursday 5th May at the recently-opened ‘Roxy Lanes’ in the Light at Leeds city centre; a superb new addition to Leeds’ new nightlife scene– think of playing Curling like an Olympian, but with the neon lights and atmosphere of a nightclub, a beer in your hand, the added pressure of an audience of your insurance contemporaries watching….you won’t be far wrong!
As well as two lanes of Curling, Pool and Bowling, the Institute has also negotiated a top-notch buffet so you can eat like an Olympian, not just curl like one! We are delighted to sponsor the event, meaning that we can raise money for the British Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal. To raise as much as possible for this worthy cause, we are encouraging other insurance businesses to get involved and make donations (via Leeds CII), or maybe offer a small prize for a raffle (vouchers, experiences, food or booze etc!), so please do speak to your managers about this – I’m sure the CII will be happy to publish names of any benefactors!
Tickets are only £10 each, which is a bargain for an evening’s entertainment and food, so where possible, we’d love it if you could donate additional funds. I’m sure someone at the Institute will be rattling a bucket, so please do dig deep in those pockets, and round the back of the sofa, for any change!
The format will be teams of five, but if you’re an individual or slightly low on numbers, you can still register and the Institute will find a team for you to join. Alternatively, give Richard Jones at Aston Charles a shout as he knows a couple of teams that are short of a player or two.
Judging from feedback already, this is sure to be a popular event (we’ve already had one American living in London book a ticket, who is coming to Yorkshire for the first time ever just to take part!), so we’d encourage you to book now – here’s a link to the Event’s page on the Insurance Institute of Leeds website https://www.localinstitutes.cii.co.uk/leeds/home/events/2022/social-digital/curling-bowling-and-pool-tournament/
