Apparently, the former glamour model, Katie Price and the ever serene Kate Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge, have more than just their names in common. This particular ‘fairy story’ starts a long time ago and should, perhaps, begin in the time honoured fashion, so……………:
Once upon a time, there lived two little girls, both of whom dreamt that one day, they would meet their Prince Charming, get married and live happily ever after. In the fullness of time, they both went on to realise their dreams, or at least in part, as it now seems Ms Price is going for quantity over quality and, arguably, you could say the similarities stop there. However, there is one more thing that the blushing brides still have in common: their engagement rings. Whilst both ladies ‘assets’ are newsworthy, we here at Aston Charles are only concerned that they have adequate insurance for their respective treasure troves in the event of loss and/or theft. A significant number of policy holders are unaware of increased values and have failed to adjust their insurance accordingly.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s ring originally belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and in 1981 was valued at £28,000. Now said to be worth in exces
s of £300,000 this represents a potential 1000% increase in that time. Katie, otherwise known as Jordan, also has a haul said to have increased in the hundreds of thousands, as prices continue to spiral; unfortunately this is a fact that has not escaped the notice of criminals. Jewellery claims now represent a third of all theft claims, but not all are successful. Some claimants are missing out on full payouts, simply because their valuations are out of date.
To make sure this does not affect you, we recommend the following:
Sadly, there is no fairy tale ending for Ms Price as yet. It looks like she’s kissed yet another frog. But, in the meantime, she would do well to make sure her insurance policy is adequate, or better still, gets her broker to source a specialist policy.
